RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech Tennis team returns to the courts this weekend as they take part in the LA Tech Invitational.

The five-team event will be played at the LA Tech Tennis Complex on Saturday and Sunday with matches beginning at 10 a.m. on both days.  Â

Saturday will begin with one round of doubles followed by two rounds of singles. Then on Sunday, two rounds of doubles will be played as well as one round of singles, guaranteeing every participant three matches for singles and doubles.Â

All eight Lady Techsters will see action in singles which will be divided up into four flights. There will be three doubles flights as well with the LA Tech lineups of

Anastasiia Salenko,
Alexia Romero/
Lara Unkovich,
Claudia Oravcova/
Ilana Tetruashvili and
Madalena Amil/
Madison Cefalu.

Romero and Unkovich teamed up to win Flight 2 of the UCA Fall Invitational, the lone action for the team this fall which came two weeks ago.Â

Participating in the tournament, the first competition at the newly-renovated LA Tech Tennis Complex since April 9, 2019, will be Arkansas State, ULM, Louisiana-Lafayette and Grambling State.

For those planning to attend on Saturday, parking will only be available in the Neilson Lot next to the Lambright Intramural Center because of the home football game between the Bulldogs and Blazers. Parking will be open to the public next the complex on Sunday.  Â
