RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech will host Grambling State Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Thomas Assembly Center in the seventh meeting ever between the two women's basketball programs.
LA Tech (1-0) is coming off a season-opening 90-45 win over McNeese State Wednesday in a game that saw the Lady Techsters score the first 22 points and cruise to the victory.
Juniors Bre Harris (career-high 17 points, 7 rebounds) and
Keiunna Walker (16 points) led LA Tech in scoring while sophomore
Anna Larr Roberson (12 points, 11 rebounds) and freshman
Robyn Lee (10 points) also added double figures.
"We have to improve on our defensive transition (from Wednesday)," said LA Tech head coach
Brooke Stoehr. "It's something we have been concerned about when we get to different rotations. (The McNeese State game) provided us some great film to teach from and for them to learn from watching. It is a quick turnaround for us especially with the holidays.
"We gave them a little time off but have been back on the court working hard over the weekend preparing for this game. Grambling State is always well coached. Freddie does a great job with them, and they always provide a great challenge for us. I expect nothing less."
Grambling State dropped its season opener Wednesday night, falling 90-47 at SEC foe Florida in Gainesville. Guard Candice Parramore led Grambling State with 12 points in the loss.
Louisiana Tech leads the all-time series against Grambling State 6-0, including a 70-66 victory over the Tigers last year in Ruston.
The contest can be heard on KXKZ 107.5 FM with the pregame show starting at 6 p.m. Fans can also access the audio through the Louisiana Tech Athletics mobile app or at
www.z1075fm.com. It can be seen online with a paid subscription to CUSA.tv.
