MOBILE, Ala. – Louisiana Tech will return to the field this weekend when the Lady Techsters compete in the three-day Jaguar Classic hosted by South Alabama.
Tech will play four games during the weekend, including a pair of match-ups against both Evansville and Austin Peay. The Lady Techsters open play Friday at 1:30 p.m. against Evansville before facing Austin Peay (10 a.m.) and Evansville (12:15 p.m.) on Saturday. The tournament concludes Sunday with a 10 a.m. contest against Austin Peay.
Tech is coming off a weekend that saw the Lady Techsters drop four out of five at the Big Easy Classic in Metairie while ULM posted a 2-2 record as it hosted the ULM Mardi Gras Classic in Monroe.
The Lady Techster pitching staff recorded a combined 2.72 earned run average for the weekend led by
Bre Hernandez (1-1, 2.33 ERA),
Audrey Pickett (0-2, 3.23 ERA) and
Hannah Koenig (0-1, 3.82 ERA).
Offensively, Tech was led during the weekend by
Meghan Robicheaux (.333, 1 run),
Marilyn Rizzato (.313, 1 HR, 5 RBI) and
Zoe Hicks (.308, 2 runs, 1 RBI).
Evansville is 3-2 after opening the season at the Total Control Sports Invitational in Rosemont, Illinois, where it posted wins over Miami (OH), Western Illinois and Green Bay.
Austin Peay is 1-1 after splitting a double header against UT-Chattanooga last weekend.
