Tennis Announces Home-Heavy Spring Schedule

Features 18 home matches

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech head coach Amanda Stone announced Wednesday the 2022 spring tennis schedule, a slate which features a program record 18 home dual matches.

"The team and I are really excited about the spring schedule," said Stone about the 26-game schedule.  "We have some top level teams to play.  We are especially happy to have so many home matches.  We are looking forward to playing in front of our fans and having that home court advantage throughout the year."

For the fifth straight year, LA Tech will open up its spring campaign in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the two-day Hurricane Invite on Jan. 15-16, taking on host Tulsa as well as Wyoming and Montana State.

The Lady Techsters will then travel to take on Stephen F. Austin on Jan. 29 before having nine straight home matches during the month of February at the LA Tech Tennis Complex.

During this stretch, LA Tech will host ULM, Tarleton State, McNeese State, Oral Roberts, Texas State, Sam Houston, Murray State, Arkansas State and Conference USA foe Middle Tennessee.

The Blue Raiders are one of five C-USA opponents the Lady Techsters will face during the regular season.  Next, they will head to San Antonio to face UTSA and Incarnate Word on March 5 and 6, respectively.

A week later, LA Tech travels south to battle Nicholls State before having a six-match home swing, starting on March 16 versus New Orleans.  The Lady Techsters will then host Missouri State and West Alabama (March 19), UT Tyler and Southern Arkansas in a doubleheader (March 26), Southern Miss (April 1) and UAB (April 3).

After playing at Northwestern State on April 12, the spring slate concludes at home with a doubleheader against North Texas and Grambling State on April 16.

The 2022 C-USA Women's Tennis Tournament will be hosted by Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tenn. On April 20-24.
