Epps, Tsironi Named to CUSA All-Academic Team

The LA Tech duo accounted for two of the six total all-academic selections

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech's Zoie Epps and Maria Tsironi have been named to the Conference USA Women's Tennis All-Academic Team, the league office announced Friday.

The duo accounted for two of the six total selections, highlighting the Bulldogs' excellence both on the court and in the classroom this season.

Epps, a junior from Norman, Oklahoma, carries a 3.57 GPA while majoring in exercise and health promotion.  She has earned numerous academic honors, including 2025 ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, CSC Academic All-District accolades, and multiple appearances on the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll, AD Honor Roll, Dean's List, and President's List.

On the court, Epps has been dominant from the top of the lineup, compiling a 14-1 dual singles record at the No. 1 position, including an 11-match winning streak.  She recently became just the sixth player in program history to reach 50 career dual singles victories.

In doubles, she is currently ranked No. 69 nationally alongside partner Isabella Walker, posting a 9-4 record at the No. 1 spot.  Epps was named First Team All-CUSA in both singles and doubles in 2025 after earning Second Team All-CUSA honors in doubles in 2024.

Tsironi, a sophomore from Argyroupoli, Greece, boasts a 3.85 GPA while majoring in business administration.  She has been recognized as a 2025 ITA Scholar-Athlete and a 2026 Conference USA Academic Medalist, in addition to multiple selections to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, AD Honor Roll, Dean's List, and President's List.

Tsironi has also made key contributions in the lineup, posting a 9-4 dual singles record while competing primarily at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, winning seven of her last nine matches.  In doubles play, she owns a 9-6 record with partner Alice Brook at the No. 2 spot, including an unblemished 4-0 mark in Conference USA action.

Epps and Tsironi join Tiffani Nash (2024) as the only Bulldogs to earn a spot on the CUSA All-Academic Team, which annually recognizes student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically.
