RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech tennis team looks to get back into the win column on Saturday when they travel to face Arkansas State on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the A-State Tennis Complex.
Â
LA Tech (4-3) had its four-match winning streak come to an end this past Wednesday, suffering a narrow 4-3 defeat at ULM.Â
Â
The Lady Techsters were not able to take advantage of winning the doubles point, losing four of the six singles matches.Â
Â
In doubles,
Leonie Schuknecht and
Ilana Tetruashvili have reeled off three straight wins at the top spot. The other two doubles tandems,
Claudia Oravcova/
Anastasiia Salenko and
Alexia Romero/
Lara Unkovich, are each 3-3 this spring season.
Â
Tetruashvili also owns a three-match winning streak in singles. She provided one of the two singles points versus the Warhawks, winning big by a score of 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 3 position.Â
Â
Arkansas State (0-2) has played just two dual matches, losing 4-1 to both Central Arkansas and SEMO. Saturday's match will be their first in 20 days.
Â
The two squads are no strangers to each other as they faced off several times individually in the fall at both the UCA Invitational and the LA Tech Invitational.Â
Â
The Red Wolves lead the all-time dual series, 18-8, including a 4-3 win last season in Ruston.  Â
