ABOUT ZOIE EPPS
Epps was voted by the CUSA coaches to represent the league in singles at the event. Her WTA ranking of 14.50 helped earn her the No. 4 seed in the tournament with a first-round matchup against Patrycja Niewiadomska of Northern Arizona. First serve is set for 11 a.m. CT on Thursday.
Â
The junior set the single-season program record for most dual singles wins after going 25-3 last spring, propelling her to a No. 15 year-end ranking in the ITA Southern Region. She carried that momentum over into the summer when she was a quarterfinalist at the ITA National Summer Championships.Â
Â
The Norman, Oklahoma native has had a strong fall season as well, winning three straight matches over opponents from Portland, Florida State, and Furman to advance to the qualifying draw of the ITA All-American Championships.
Â
She followed that up with a Flight A title at the ACU Invitational, surrendering just 10 total games over three matches in defeating foes from Texas State, Sam Houston, and Tarleton State.
