WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Louisiana Tech golf team closed out the Purdue Intercollegiate in windy conditions on Tuesday, placing 15th after a final round score of 310 at the Kampen Course.
Â
LA Tech (309-305-310=924) never could break through on the challenging course while playing against a field with eight top-75 teams.Â
Â
James Swash opened his third round with a birdie on the longest par 5 (No. 16) on the course, playing 608 which briefly put him in the top 12 individually. However, that was the lone birdie the fifth-year senior could register as he finished the day with a 77 (+5), placing him in a tie for 24th at +7 (72-74-77=223).
Â
Lake Juban carded the lowest round for the Bulldogs on Tuesday, mixing in two birdies and three bogeys to finish with a 73 (+1) for his best round of the tournament (also tied for the 13th best round of the day). He finished in a tie for 51st at +15 (77-81-73=231).
Â
Hunter Battles had the third-highest finish for LA Tech, ending in 63rd at +19 (80-76-79=235).Â
Will Patrick finished tied for 64th at +20 (80-75-81=236) and

"I am disappointed with how we played this week. We played a hard golf course and did not respond the way we needed to in all three rounds. The course was especially hard today. James played pretty solid and Lake had a good final round. We will learn from this and be a better team having played something very different from what we see on a daily basis."  Â
