LA Tech Ready to Compete at C-USA Championships

Men’s 8K, 9 a.m.; Women’s 6K, 10 a.m.

Ruston, La. – The Louisiana Tech men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the 2022 Conference USA Cross Country Championships, Saturday, Oct. 29 in Denton, Texas, hosted by North Texas.

Event: C-USA Cross Country Championship Central
Date: Saturday, Oct. 28
Time: Men's 8K, 9 a.m.; Women's 6K, 10 a.m.
Location: Denton, Texas

Participating Schools: Charlotte, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Rice, UAB, UTEP, UTSA, and Western Kentucky
 
The Women's 6K will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the Men's 8K at 10 a.m.
 
Last year, the Bulldogs finished in seventh place, while the Lady Techsters finished 13th
 
The best finish for the men's team this season was a fourth-place effort at the Warhawk Invitational hosted by ULM, while the women finished third at the Watson Classic hosted by Mississippi College. 
 
In their last meet, every athlete on both the men's and women's teams finished with a personal best while competing at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala. 
 
Erik Rangel and Rebecca Quebedeaux have paced their respective teams during the 2022 slate. 
 
Quebedeaux was named the Conference USA Cross Country Female Athlete of the Week on Sep. 27 after a top-25 finish at the Watson Classic with a 6K time of 25:18.
