CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Louisiana Tech Golf team put together a better round on day two of the Daniel Island Intercollegiate, improving my eight strokes to shoot a 297 (+9) on Monday morning at the Ralston Creek Course.

More birdies were to be had in the second round. After managing just seven birdies during rainy conditions in round one, LA Tech doubled that to sink 14 with each golfer making at least two to help remain in a tie for sixth going into the third and final round.

It was another struggle out of the blocks with the Bulldogs starting on the difficult back nine again. The team settled in though just before making the turn, coming to shooting -2 on No. 18.Â

LA Tech then combined to shoot -1 on the front nine, all five players shooting between 35-37.Â
James Swash and
Thomas Henson paced the team for a second straight day as both Bulldogs carded a 73 (+1). They current sit tied for ninth in the individual standings at 148 (+4).

Lake Juban had the third best round again, overcoming a start that included five bogeys in his first six holes to end the day with a 75 (+3).

Hunter Battles recovered with a rough round one (85) to improve by nine strokes with a 76 while
Will Patrick carded a 79 (+7).

LA Tech is in a two-way tie for sixth at 602 (+26) with Campbell and just two strokes back of fourth. Florida Gulf Coast remained in first at 587 (+11), followed by Mississippi State at 590 (14), South Carolina at 594 (+18), Memphis at 600 (+24) and Middle Tennessee at 601 (+25).
