Preview: LA Tech vs. Oral Roberts, Texas State

Friday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m.

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech faces a pair of opponents this weekend at the LA Tech Tennis Complex, first taking on Oral Roberts on Friday at 2 p.m. and then Texas State on Sunday at 11 a.m.
 
ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (4-2)
LA Tech looks to remain undefeated at home this week after recording victories over ULM and McNeese State in Ruston.  The Lady Techsters secured a 4-3 win over the Warhawks and picked up a shutout win versus the Cowgirls.
 
They secured the doubles point in both matches, improving to 11-6 on the season as a team in dual doubles.  They continue to be anchored by the top squad of Leonie Schuknecht and Ana Rodrigues who are 5-1 at the No. 1 position.
 
LA Tech is a combined 18-15 in dual singles this spring as four Lady Techsters have at least three wins to their credit.  They are currently led by Ilana Tetruashvili who is 5-1, having won four straight. 
 
ABOUT ORAL ROBERTS (1-3)
Oral Roberts picked up its first win of the 2022 spring season against Seattle, but has dropped two straight to Montana State and Lamar. 
 
Oleksandra Nahurska anchors the team at the top of the lineup in doubles and singles.  She is a combined 7-1 so far, including a perfect 4-0 in singles.
 
This will be the fourth straight season LA Tech and ORU meet on the courts.  The Lady Techsters have won two of those three meetings, including a 4-0 shutout last season in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
 
ABOUT TEXAS STATE (2-2)
Texas State enters the weekend having won two straight over Stephen F. Austin and Jackson State.  This came after opening the spring with shutout losses to nationally-ranked Texas A&M and Texas.
 
The Bobcats, who are schedule to play Northwestern State on Saturday, is led by Hana Kvapilova who is 2-2 in singles at the No. 1 position.
 
This will be the first meeting between LA Tech and Texas State since 2018.  The Lady Techsters have won five straight in the series, owning a 5-3 series advantage.
