RUSTON, La. – With both teams coming off a successful opening weekend, Louisiana Tech hosts Northwestern State Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field.
Both season and single game tickets are available and can be purchased at the box office located at the facility or by logging onto LATechSports.com/tickets. Gates open at 5 p.m.
The Lady Techsters won four out of five games at the Best of the Bayou hosted by ULM at the Ouachita Sportsplex this past weekend. Tech posted wins over Stephen F. Austin, Morehead State, Southern and Mississippi Valley State while falling to SIU-Edwardsville.
Tech's pitching staff only allowed six earned runs in five games, led by Audrey Pickett (2-0, 0.00 ERA) and Emma Hutchinson (2-1, 2.10 ERA). As a group they combined for 26 strikeouts and only 10 walks in 30 innings of work.
At the plate, Tech was led by Conference USA Hitter of the Week Lindsay Edwards (.500, 4 runs, 6 RBI), Caroline Easom (.429, 1 HR, 7 RBI), Amanda Gonzalez (.417, 1 HR, 5 RBI), Sierra Sacco (.333, 6 runs, 2 doubles) and Brooke Diaz (.313, 2 HR, 7 RBI).
Northwestern State won three out of four games in its opening weekend, with wins over UT-Martin, Chattanooga and Arkansas-Pine Bluff and a loss to Baylor.
The Demons pitching staff was phenomenal, tossing three shutouts and allowing only two earned runs in 28 innings of action.
