RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech travels to south Louisiana for two midweek matchups versus Nicholls State and Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Louisiana Tech opened the 2022 season with a seven-game home, sweeping Wichita State, defeating No. 2 LSU, and dropping two of three games to Tulane. The Bulldogs hit the road down south for its first road trip of the season.
LA Tech starts the new season at a 5-2 mark through February, winning its first five games.
The top of the Bulldogs lineup has been red hot since opening day. Taylor Young and Philip Matulia have led the offensive charge through the first seven games. Young is 10-for-25 (.400) with a home run, two triples, three doubles, four RBI and nine runs scored. Matulia is 9-for-21 (.429) with a home run, two doubles, five RBI and 11 runs scored.
Jonathan Fincher, Cade Gibson and Kyle Crigger have been dominant on the mound thus far. Fincher has two starts earning the victory in both while posting a 3.27 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 9.0 innings pitched. Cade Gibson earned a win when LA Tech defeated No. 2 LSU throwing 5.0 innings and punching out 8. Crigger has locked down the back end of the bullpen earning a win and a save opening weekend and closing the 11-6 win over LSU.
ABOUT NICHOLLS STATE (4-4, 0-0 SOUTHLAND)
Nicholls State prepares for a midweek matchup against LA Tech after a dominant series sweep over Mississippi Valley State last weekend. After losing three out of four to Missouri and a midweek game versus Tulane, Nicholls State works its way back to 4-4.
Former Bulldog Assistant Coach, Mike Silva, is in his first season as head coach for the Colonels. Nicholls State finished 13th in the Southland Conference in 2021.
Colonel outfielder, Wes Toups, is hitting a remarkable .450 through eight games. He has tallied a home run, two doubles, a triple and nine RBI.
ABOUT SOUTHEASTERN (3-4, 0-0 SOUTHLAND)
Southeastern Louisiana starts 3-4 after dropping two out of three to UAB over the weekend. The Lions have played six out of their seven games at home at Pat Kelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Southeastern plays Tulane Tuesday and LA Tech Wednesday night.
Lion Head Coach, Matt Riser, is in his ninth season at the helm. Riser has led the Lions to three NCAA Tournament appearances since 2014.
Infielder, Rhett Rosevear, is hitting .333 through seven games this season. Rosevear was 3-for-5 in his last game on Sunday recording his first home run of the season and a triple.

The Bulldogs and Colonels have met 28 times with the Bulldogs leading the series 15-13. In the last 10 meeting LA Tech is 8-2 versus Nicholls State. The last time the two schools met was February 19, 2011 in Ruston as the Bulldogs won 4-2.
Southeastern Louisiana leads the all-time series 10-13 over LA Tech. The last time these two faced off was March 10, 2020, as LA Tech produced an offensive outburst in a 14-3 defeat of Southeastern.
