RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech junior
Allie Leiendecker has been named to the National Tenpin Coaches Association First-Team All-Region for the Central region of NCAA bowling.
The all-region team resulted from voting by participating head coaches consisting of players from first and second teams along with honorable-mentions from the North and Central regions.
The Lady Techsters posted 31 wins over top-25 programs, including 11 wins over top-10 teams and knocking off the No. 1 ranked team at two tournaments.
Leiendecker led the No. 8 LA Tech bowling team all year, reaching as high as No. 5, as their anchor to top 10 finishes in every event this season, including nine top-five finishes, four runner-up results, and two tournament titles in their 11 tournaments.
"Allie has been consistent all year in the anchor spot," said Head Coach
Matt Nantais. "She has pulled out some pretty big wins for us when she was called upon. The nice thing with Allie is she can see ball motion and communicates very well with her teammates as well as myself on what she sees. She is definitely one of the reasons for the success we have had this year."
LA Tech also qualified as an at-large participant in the NCAA tournament after a top-three finish in the Southland Tournament championships and competed in the Arlington Regional where they finished second. Tech has also qualified for the USBC National Championships in Addison, Ill. April 18-23.
Leiendecker has been named to three all-tournament teams during the 2021-22 season and was named the tournament MVP at the Sonic Boom Invitational to go along with two other top-10 individual finishes.
She finished the season with a No. 5 rank in per-frame average (21.11), No. 6 rank in PCPI of 85.067%, No. 2 ranking in individual strike percentage (.560), and led the conference in traditional average frames of 21.44. She also finished the season ranked No. 6 in PCPI (.85067).
