LA Tech Back Home for Two Midweek Contests

The Bulldogs are back home for a five game homestand

RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech begins five game homestand as the Bulldogs are set to host Little Rock and Northwestern State for two midweek matchups Tuesday and Wednesday night at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (25-11, 11-4 C-USA)
LA Tech is coming off of a series win where the Bulldogs took two out of three games on the road at Marshall.
 
The Bulldog offense tallied 14 extra base hits and seven home runs in the three games in Huntington. Steele Netterville, Jorge Corona and Cole McConnell each launched two long balls.
 
Taylor Young leads the squad in 10 different offensive categories. The senior shortstop also leads the conference with 46 runs scored, 31 walks and four triples.
 
Bulldog catcher Jorge Corona had himself an outstanding performance at the plate over the weekend. The sophomore went 6-for-13 with two home runs, a double and six RBI. Corona belted the third Bulldog grand slam in the Friday night affair.
 
Greg Martinez will make another midweek start on Tuesday against Little Rock. The right-hander posts a 2-1 record with a 5.53 ERA in 27.2 innings while punching out 30.
 
ABOUT LITTLE ROCK (16-15, 6-8 Sun Belt)
Little Rock rolls into play having lost its last three games, two coming against Arkansas State and one to Central Arkansas last Tuesday.
 
The Trojans offense comes into Tuesday with a .303 batting average with Canyon McWilliams leading the squad with an incredible .380 average in 121 at-bats. Noah Dickerson sits right behind him hitting .366 and leads the squad with six homers.
 
Hoss Brewer is slated to make his fifth start. The right-hander is 2-0 with a 4.24 ERA in 34 innings pitched and a 37 to 17 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
 
ABOUT NORTHWESTERN STATE (16-18, 4-8 Southland)
The Demons traveled down to Thibodaux to face off with Nicholls State over the weekend with Nicholls taking two out of three games.
 
Daunte Stuart leads the team in batting average with a .298 average playing in all 32 games this season.
 
Jeffrey Elkins and Bo Willis are tied for the team-lead in home runs with six.
 
THE SERIES
The Bulldogs and Trojans will meet for the 85th time on Tuesday night with the Bulldogs leading the all-time series 59-25. The last time the two programs met was in 2019 with the latest meeting at J.C. Love Field in a 5-4 Bulldog win.
 
The Bulldogs and Demons will meet for the 134th time on Tuesday night with the Bulldogs leading the all-time series 81-52. The two schools have not met since the 2019 season when the Demons swept the season series winning 8-4 in Ruston and 3-1 in Natchitoches.
