TEXARKANA –
James Swash continued his impressive performance at the 2022 Conference USA Golf Championships Tuesday shooting a six-under-par 66 to lead the entire field through 36 holes at the Texarkana Country Club.
Swash birdied seven holes and bogeyed one as he shot 33s on both sides and recorded one of only three rounds in the 60s out of the field of 64 competitors. Middle Tennessee's Nick Wolf and Southern Miss' Robbie Latter both shot 69s.
As a team, the Bulldogs tied for the best team score during the second round, shooting a three-under-par 285.

Mac Murphy,
Hunter Battles and
Lake Juban all shot one-over-par 73 in the second round.
Tech is now tied for fifth place with Charlotte, just three shots out of fourth place heading into Wednesday's final round. The top four teams after Wednesday will advance to match play on Thursday which will ultimately determine the 2022 Conference USA champions.
"I am really proud of the response the guys had today," said Tech head coach
Matt Terry. "All the guys had good chances to shoot great rounds today. Cleanup a shot here and there, and we can have a big day tomorrow. James is playing nice golf right now. He had some clutch up and downs to keep his round going."
Swash (70-66=136) holds a two-stroke lead in the individual competition over Florida Atlantic's Max Sturdza (138) and Marshall's Tyler Jones (138) and a four-shot lead over Middle Tennessee's Michael Barnard and UTSA's Michael Rome (140).
Sam Murphy (74-73=147, T33rd), Juban (74-73=147, T33rd),
Mac Murphy (79-73=152, T47th) and Battles (80-73=153, T51st) all moved up in the individual standings during the day.
Florida Atlantic (567) leads the team competition followed by Southern Miss (571), UTSA (577), Rice (579), Tech (582), Charlotte (582), UTEP (585), Middle Tennessee (585), North Texas (586), UAB (586), WKU (593), Old Dominion (598) and Marshall (600).
The 2022 C-USA Championship features three days of stroke play with 18 holes each day. The top four teams after 54 holes are completed will then compete in match play semifinals and finals on Thursday. Round three action begins at 8 a.m. CT on Wednesday morning.
The Bulldogs will tee off at 8 a.m. on Hole No. 1.
