TUCSON, Ariz. – Louisiana Tech's
Ryan Harland was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball Wednesday morning.
The Baton Rouge native appeared in 19 games in his true-freshman season throwing in 42 innings while posting an incredible 46-to-six strikeout-to-walk ratio. Harland finished the season 3-0 with a 3.21 ERA while opponents hit just .231 off of him. His career-high performance against Marshall when he struck out eight earning the win came during a span of 24 straight innings that Harland had not allowed an earned run.
The left-hander becomes the seventh Bulldog in program history to be named a Freshman All-American with the last being Phil Maton in 2012.
