RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech women's bowling head coach
Matt Nantais announced the 2022-23 schedule on Tuesday.
"I put this schedule together to give us a stronger strength of schedule this year. Having two events that we fly to this year will get us some exposure in areas of the country people never get to see us. We are ready to get started to improve on what we did last year. This is going to be an exciting year for everyone."
The Lady Techsters open the 2022-23 campaign by competing in the SWIBC in Dallas, Texas, from Oct. 8-9. Tech then competes in the Tulane-hosted Colonial Lanes Classic in Harahan, La., from Oct. 14-16.
LA Tech will participate in three tournaments in the month of November beginning with the Dezy Strong tournament in Coram, NY, from Oct.28-30. They then head to Sam Houston-hosted Track Kat Klash in Conroe, Texas, from Nov. 4-6. The Lady Techsters will then compete in the Jackson State-hosted Sonic Boom Invitational in Jackson, Miss., from Nov. 11-13.
Louisiana Tech returns to the lanes after an almost two-month hiatus on the road at the Stormin' Blue & White Vegas Classic from Jan. 9-10.They will then head to Prairie View A&M Invitational in Arlington, Texas, from Jan. 27-29. Tech then hosts its own Lady Techsters Classic in Dallas, Texas, from Feb. 10-12, before closing out the month of February at the Arkansas State-hosted Mid-Winter Invitational in Jonesboro, Ark., from Feb. 17-19.
Tech will participate in the USBC Sectionals from March 10-12 before going to the Vanderbilt-hosted Columbia 300 Music City Classic in Nashville, Tenn., from March 17-19.
The Lady Techster postseason will start at the Southland Conference Championship in Allen, Tx., from March 23-26. LA Tech will then look to compete for another pair of championships in the NCAA Tournament from April 14-15, and at the USBC ITC and ISC Championships in Las Vegas Nv., from April 20-22.
Tech finished the 2022-23 season with a 77-30 record including 33 wins over top-25 teams, 20 wins over the top-10, 12 top-five wins, three wins over No. 2-ranked team in the country, and two wins over the top-ranked team in the country. They were ranked in the top-10 all season long and were even ranked as No.5. The Techsters earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament for the secong time in program history and finished runner-up in the Arlington Regional as an Elite 8 team.
