Bulldogs Compete at Watson Collegiate Classic

RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech cross country teams competed at the Watson Collegiate Classic hosted by Mississippi College on Friday morning in Clinton, Mississippi.
The women's team finished seventh with 213 points, while the men finished 16th with 425.
Dillon Moree led the charge for the men's team with a 28:26.5 for an 86th-place finish out of 202 participants. Nathan Theriot, Arie Linton, Kenneth Smith, and Evan Taylor all finished under 30 minutes. Theriot crossed at 29:07.7 while Linton came in at 29:11.0, Smith at 29:25.6, and Evan Taylor rounded out the scoring with a time of 29:43.3.
Mississippi College took home the title with 33 points. UT-Dallas, Mobile, LeTourneau, and McMurry rounded out the top five.
Rebecca Quebedeaux continued to lead the women's team. The reigning Conference USA Athlete of the Week finished the 6K course with a new personal best of 24:14.9 for a 22nd-place finish out of 167, beating her previous time by 30 seconds.
Victoria Datta was the other Bulldog to finish inside the top 50 with a personal best of 25:26.9 for 47th. Selah Keene finished just outside with a time of 25:32.1. Lexa Thompson and Gracie Pepitone finished the scoring with times of 25:49.7 and 26:23.1, respectively.
Mississippi College completed the sweep with the women's title with 19 points. Blue Mountain finished second, with McMurry, East Texas Baptist, and UMHB rounding out the top five.
