LAFAYETTE, La. – Louisiana Tech battled cold, windy conditions on day one of the UL-Lafayette Classics, shooting 319 and 304 through the first 36 holes on Monday at the Oakbourne Country Club.

Every team participating in the event struggled in the elements, finishing the first two rounds over par. LA Tech enters the third and final round in 14th with a combined total of 623 (+55).

The morning round was the hardest as the Bulldogs managed only two birdies while shooting +35. The team had a better effort in round two, shooting +20, which included 13 birdies and one eagle by
Lake Juban on the par three No. 5.

James Swash, who recently earned his PGA Tour Canada card, is the leading Bulldog after two rounds with a scorecard of +11 (79-74=153), putting him in a tie for 38th individually.

Peyton Johnson, playing as an individual, has the second-best score going into round three at +12 (81-73=154), which puts him in a tie for 49th. The best round of the day belonged to Juban who shot +1 (72) in round two. He is in a tie for 54th after shooting +13 (83-72=155).
