RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech outfielder
Kylie Neel has been named the Blenders Eyeware Conference USA Player of the Week due to her efforts during a series sweep of UTEP this past weekend.
Neel had an incredible week at the plate batting .583 with seven hits, eight RBI, two home runs, two doubles, a walk and five runs scored as LA Tech went 3-0, sweeping UTEP for their sixth-straight win. Neel recorded multiple hits, scored a run and drove in a run in all three-games. In the 13-2 series finale win, she went 2-4 with a home run, a double, a walk and a career-high 4 RBI. In game two of the series she tied a career-high with three hits during a 7-2 win.
The Richmond, Texas native is on a 12-game hitting streak and an 18-game reached base streak. Neel leads Tech this season with a .350 batting average, 49 hits, 43 RBI and 76 total bases. Her 43 RBI are the fifth most in a single season in program history.
The Lady Techsters are back in action tomorrow when they travel host Grambling State for a 6 p.m. midweek tilt.
