RUSTON – Louisiana Tech junior Lexa Thompson was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, announced by the league on Tuesday.
Thompson, a Rosepine, Louisiana native, is a Kinesiology and Health Sciences major with a 3.948 GPA.
Opening the season with a new personal best of 16:43.2 in the 4k at the 48th Rice Invitational, Thompson would go on to set two other PRs.
Setting another personal best at the McNeese Cowboy Stampede, she would run a 19:55.9 in the 5k to finish 38th. Thompson would follow that up with a 20:53.0 at the Mook 4 to finish 22nd.
Her third PR came at the Watson Collegiate XC Classic in the 6k. Her time of 24:40.9 would give her a 42nd-place finish. She would close out the season with a 24:59.6 at the CUSA XC Championship to finish 76th in the conference.
