Rosales Earns All-Tournament, Bulldogs in Seventh at Mid-Winter Invitational

JONESBORO, Ark. – Louisiana Tech had a consistent day on the lanes as the Bulldogs went 4-1 on the second day of the Mid-Winter Invitational at the Hijinx Family Entertainment Center.
 
Patricia Rosales rolled a five-game total of 1,145 to finish fifth and earn her second consecutive All-Tournament honor. The Bulldogs finished seventh after 10 qualifying games with a team total of 10,053.
 
Tech started the day looking to upend No. 1 Jacksonville State, and they did just that. The Bulldogs came away with a 1,017-980 victory behind three games over 200. Rosales started her day with a 236, followed by Abbie Leiendecker at 219 and Danielle Jedlicki rolling a 202. Allie Leiendecker anchored with a 194.
 
Looking to make a move in the standings, LA Tech rolled another game in the plus, but No. 10 Maryville threw the second-highest set by any team on the day and took the game 1,125-1,020. Kylee Trexler bounced back after a disappointing first game with a 243 to lead the way. Allie Leiendecker and Rosales were the only other Bulldogs over 200, with 220 and 204, respectively.
 
Tech returned to the win column by taking game three, 999-983, over No. 6 Nebraska. Rosales moved up the individual standings with a 224. At the same time, the sister duo of Allie and Abbie Leiendecker rolled their second game in the plus with 200 and 214.
 
Trying to climb the standings with two games remaining in qualifying, LA Tech rolled their highest set of the weekend, taking down No. 16 Newman 1,050-873. Rosales had her third game over 220 with a 243. Allie Leiendecker shot 214, followed by Jedlicki with 212 and Abbie Leiendecker at 209.
 
The Bulldogs finished 4-1 for the second straight day with a 982-895 victory over No. 24 Central Missouri. Rosales closed the day with a 238, while Allyson Sand saw her first action with a 212. Allie Leiendecker rolled her fourth consecutive game in the plus with a 205.
 
UP NEXT
The Bulldogs will begin bracket play against Sam Houston and can move up to fifth place with three straight wins. Bracket play is the best 4-of-7 Baker games.
