Tech lost 11-1 to LSU on Tuesday
BATON ROUGE, La. -- A five-run first inning carried No. 4 LSU to an 11-1 victory over Louisiana Tech on Tuesday night at Alex Box Stadium. LA Tech (16-6) scored one run on five hits while LSU (18-4) brought in 11 runs on 12 hits and three errors.
LSU's offense batted in five runs in the bottom of the first inning against Tech. The last time Tech allowed five runs in the first inning of a ball game was at Middle Tennessee in 2023. The Bulldogs picked up a run after Kasten Furr (2-for-3, RBI, BB) singled to the left side, scoring Adarius Myers and cutting the LSU's lead to 5-1 in the second inning.
LSU's Jared Jones extended the Tigers lead to 7-1 with a two-run homer to center field in the bottom of the second inning. Then the Tigers scored a pair of runs following an RBI ground out from Mac Bingham in the third and a Hayden Travinski home run to left field, pushing the score to 9-1. Meanwhile, Tech earned hits from Dalton Davis, Jorge Corona, and Adarius Myers but could not capitalize off the opportunities. Eventually, LSU scored from a Tommy White home run in the sixth and an RBI double from him in the eighth, resulting in an 11-1 score, finishing the game in the eighth inning.

Louisiana Tech will look to bounce back tomorrow in Thibodaux against Nicholls in another midweek matchup. The first pitch for Wednesday's game will be at 6:30 p.m.
