Dogs Look to Regroup Against Southern Miss
RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech baseball is ready to host the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles in a three-game home series. Tech is coming off a 6-4 loss from Xavier on Wednesday.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (12-1)
Tech is 12-1, suffering their first loss on Wednesday against Xavier. Tech clawed their way back in the game in the bottom of the eighth and ninth innings but fell 6-4 to the Musketeers. Michael Ballard's consistency in the boxer's box has him hitting a team-high .426 with a 13-game hit streak. Logan McLeod is four hit-by-pitches away from breaking the all-time record. Ethan Bates is ranked sixth in the nation in doubles and ninth in saves on the year. Luke Nichols's WHIP ranks 18th nationally in baseball.
ABOUT SOUTHERN MISS (8-5)
Southern Miss is on a two-game losing streak after one loss against Mississippi State and one against Indiana State. The Golden Eagles clinched a series win against Indiana State this past weekend. Southern Miss went 46-20 in 2023 and hosted an NCAA Super Regional in Hattiesburg.
THE SERIES
Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss have faced each other 49 times since the first meeting in 1972. The last time both teams faced off was in a midweek home and way series in 2023, where Southern Miss beat Tech 6-5 on the road. Tech also won against the Golden Eagles at home in 2023, with 3-1 being the final score.
