Trexler Named NTCA Rookie of the Year, Four Bulldogs Earn All-American

RUSTON — Louisiana Tech's bowling team picked up four All-American honors, including the Rookie of the Year, announced by the National Tenpin Coaches Association at the NCAA National Championship banquet on Thursday night.

Already earning Conference USA Freshman of the Year, Kylee Trexler was named National Rookie of the Year and Third Team All-American. The Indiana native led all freshmen in scoring (20.60), strike percentage (52.5), and Baker doubles (59.1), as well as being second in first ball (9.07) and fill percentage (86.0). She has two top-five finishes, including taking the top spot at the USBC ISC Sectional in Fort Worth, Texas, to qualify for the USBC ISC Nationals for an opportunity to win the individual national title. Trexler is the third Bulldog to earn the Rookie of the Year, joining Kaitlyn Eder in 2018 and teammate Allie Leiendecker in 2020.

Patricia Rosales earned Second Team All-American to pick up her first All-American honor. The graduate student helped LA Tech to its best ranking at No. 4 and its best record, 87-37, in program history. She leads the team in average (20.91, 10th nationally), spare percentage (73.2, 17th), and single-pin spares (94.7, 3rd). Rosales has two top-five finishes, including the tournament MVP at the Columbia 300 Saints Invite.

Earning Second Team All-American, Allie Leiendecker becomes the first Bulldog to be a five-time All-American. She leads the team in strike percentage (54.7), first ball of 9+ (77.2), first ball average (9.11), and makeable spares (85.0). In her career, Leiendecker has finished inside the top 25 in 34 of 36 events in which she bowled every game and won three tournament MVPs. The Ohio native has led LA Tech to the NCAA Tournament every season except for her freshman campaign when the tournament was canceled due to COVID-19.

Danielle Jedlicki picked up her second straight All-American Honorable Mention. She is one of the best spare shooters in the country, with a 72.1 percent spare conversion, 87.6 percent on makeable spares, and 91.8 percent on single-pin spares, all ranking in the top 25 in the nation. Jedlicki raised her average for the fourth consecutive year, finishing at 20.07 and a career-best 9.01 first-ball average. During her junior season, she is the only bowler in program history to roll an individual perfect game in collegiate competition. She has been a part of three perfect games as a Bulldog, two individually and one team.
