ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – Louisiana Tech shot 293 (+9) in the third and final round Tuesday to finish tied for ninth at the Sea Best Invitational, played at the Atlantic Beach Country Club.

LA Tech (291-295-293=879) took advantage of the four par 5s, combining to shoot nine under with 11 birdies made. However, the Bulldogs struggled on the five par 3s that yielded zero birdies.Â

Jake Plumb had his best round of the tournament shooting 72 (+1) while
Freddie Surgey matched his best round, also with a 72 (+1) thanks to a stretch of three straight birdies on No. 6, No. 7, and No. 8.

Oskari Schuvalow was Even par through the first nine holes, securing back-to-back birdies before making the turn. He would end up shooting 74 (+3) for the day and five over (71-73-74=218) for the event.Â

The fourth scorecard used was that of
Niilo Maki-Petaja who had a tough stretch to finish round three, shooting 75 (+4). The sophomore would still have the highest individual finish for LA Tech, tying for 33rd (72-70-75=217) at four over.

28th-ranked Texas A&M led from start to finish, taking the team title while Phichaksn Maichon of the Aggies won the individual title shooting 11 under.

LA Tech will head to Mobile, Alabama to take part in the Hal Williams Collegiate on Feb. 10-11.
