RUSTON – The Diamond 'Dogs' game against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions on Wednesday has been declared a no contest due to persistent inclement weather in the Lincoln Parish area.
The game was halted in the bottom of the fifth inning before entering a weather delay, shortly followed by the game being called by Louisiana Tech officials. By NCAA rule, a game must complete five full innings for there to be a final score declared.
The 'Dogs will begin their road trip Wednesday night for Bowling Green, Kentucky for a pivotal three-game CUSA series with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. The series opens on Friday, May 2 at 6 p.m. followed by Game 2 on Saturday, May 3 at 4 p.m. CT. The series finale is scheduled for Saturday, May 4 at 1 p.m. CT.
Friday and Saturday's games will be streamed on ESPN+, while Sunday's game will only be broadcasted via radio on 97.7 FM and the LA Tech Athletics app.
