Louisiana Tech volleyball fell to South Alabama in straight sets in their first Sun Belt road match of the season Thursday night.
MOBILE, Ala. - Louisiana Tech volleyball fell to South Alabama in straight sets in their first Sun Belt road match of the season Thursday night.

Taylor Woods led the effort with nine kills, starting all three sets. Riley Steubing notched 11 digs, eight more than the closest Bulldog and one shy of the match leader.Â
The Jaguars took the lead on the first point of the game and never relinquished it, leading by eight at the media timeout. South Alabama closed the set on a 5-2 run to win the point, 25-14. Woods scored four kills on six attempts, while Steubing found six digs.Â
Louisiana Tech opened the second set on a 3-0 run to take an early advantage, but South Alabama regained control with a 15-12 lead at the media timeout. The Jaguars closed the set on a 15-5 run, winning 25-15. Kylie Rodriguez and Woods both scored three kills in the set.Â
The third set started close with both teams trying to find an advantage, but after being tied 6-6, the Jaguars would take a 18-10 advantage to force a Louisiana Tech timeout. South Alabama closed out the match 25-17 to win the match in straight sets.Â
