Bailey Named CUSA Golfer of the Week

Sophomore Morton Bailey earns his first CUSA weekly award

RUSTON – Following a top 10 finish at the Hal Williams Collegiate, Louisiana Tech's Morton Bailey was named Conference USA Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday.

Bailey put together his best collegiate performance the last two days at Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Semmes, Alabama, tying for ninth in the field made up of 78 golfers.

The sophomore shot under par in all three rounds, carding a score of 67-69-69=205 (-5) to outduel seven players ranked in the top 150 in the country for his first career top 10 finish.

Bailey has recorded four top 20 finishes in the six events played this season and owns a team-high nine rounds at or under par (six of his last seven rounds).

This is the first CUSA weekly honor for the Crawley, England native.
