LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Louisiana Tech men's and women's track & field programs concluded the 2026 Conference USA Indoor Championships Saturday evening at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg, Virginia.
A'reil Williams secured the first gold medal of the weekend for the 'Dogs and the second podium finish with a mark of 1.77 meters in the women's high jump, just 0.01 meters shy of tying her personal best and indoor program record of 1.78.
It was her second career gold medal and the first of her indoor career at Louisiana Tech, as well as her third career podium finish in the event.
Jamara Patterson and
Osaretin Joy Usenbor put in another stellar performance in the women's 400, with Patterson earning gold with a time of 52.66 and Usenbor with a third-place finish clocked at 54.06.
Sabastian Bradley-Reed followed up with his second consecutive championship secured in the men's 400, winning gold with a time of 46.65. It is the first time CUSA has seen back-to-back champions in the event since 2016-2017, when WKU's Emmanuel Dasor secured two-straight championships in the men's 400.
Both the men's and women's 4x400 relay teams secured the bronze medal in both events. The women, comprised of
Jenaia Williams, Patterson, Usenbor and
Nia Wiley, ran a time of 3:39.29 to finish just under two seconds behind the event champion Kennesaw State.
The men's relay team, comprised of Prentice Sanders,
Rickey Williams III,
Cullen Hronek and Bradley-Reed secured bronze with a time of 3:11.02 to also finish just under two seconds behind the champion Kennesaw State. The Bulldogs' streak of two-straight championships in the men's 4x400 ended, but extended out to three-straight podium finishes at the CUSA Indoor Championships.
The men and the women's teams both finished in sixth place in the team standings, with the men securing 44 points and the women scoring 39.6 points.
