Tuesday's game will be the 34
th all-time meeting between the Bulldogs and the Tigers. LSU holds a 29-4 lead in the series after winning the last 26 games dating back to the 1982 season. LA Tech won the initial matchup 1-0 in 1981. LSU won last year's contest 9-1 in six innings.
ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
The Bulldogs moved to 17-14 (3-6 Conference USA) after being swept by Jax State on the road this past weekend. LA Tech fell 0-3 on Friday night, 2-4 on Saturday and 2-4 (8 inn) on Sunday.
LA Tech collected 16 hits in the series to Jax State's 17. The Bulldogs produced just two extra base hits as
Bradi Gallaway hit a double and
Reagan Marchant hit a home run. Marchant leads the team with nine homers and is up to 27 in her LA Tech career, which ranks as the sixth most in program history.
Marchant leads the team in RBI with 28 while Gallaway sits one behind with 27 runs driven in.
Elena Heng registered her 100th career hit against Jax State on Saturday. Heng leads the team with 42 base knocks, which is tied for third most in CUSA. She led the team with four hits in the series against the Gamecocks.
Allie Floyd moved to 7-8 in the circle after suffering two complete-game losses. Floyd has a team-best 2.57 ERA, and leads the pitching staff in innings pitched (92.2) and strikeouts (76).
Laney Johson (4-1) took her first loss of the year on Saturday after allowing three runs on three hits across five innings. The Sophomore ranks second on the team with 49.0 innings under her belt.
ABOUT LSU
The Tigers enter Tuesday's meeting with a 21-10 mark (3-6 SEC). LSU took two of three this past weekend from South Carolina, winning 5-1 on Saturday and 2-1 in the finale on Sunday.
LSU is batting .259 as a team and have a 2.87 staff ERA. Sierra Daniel (30) is the only Tiger with more than 30 hits. Jalia Lassiter ranks second in hits (29) and RBI (19). Tori Edwards leads the team with 22 RBI on 20 hits along with a team-high five home runs.
Jayden Heavener leads the Tiger pitching staff in wins (7), innings pitched (77.2), complete games (9) and strikeouts (68). Tatum Clopton has a staff best 2.10 ERA and is second on the team with six wins.
