Louisiana Tech volleyball fell to Northwestern State at Prather Coliseum Tuesday night, 3-0 in lone road game.

NATCHITOCHES, La. – Louisiana Tech volleyball fell to Northwestern State at Prather Coliseum Tuesday night, 3-0 in lone road game.

Megan Cooley was on double-double watch, leading the team with nine kill and adding 13 digs, the second most by a Bulldog. Gabrielle Hairston followed closely with eight kills of her own. Violet Morrandez remained a presence at the net, assisting with four blocks and grabbing a pair of digs.

The first set was tightly contested until the Demons took a 14-10 lead right before the media timeout. The Bulldogs strung together a late rally, but fell short, losing the first set 25-22. Cooley notched five of her kills in the first set, adding six digs.

The Bulldogs put together multiple runs to take a commanding 11-5 lead, but the Demons blitzed a 9-0 run to take a late lead, winning the set 25-20. Tyra McKinnie led the way with three kills, while three other Bulldogs added a pair of their own.

Set three saw runs of 5-0 and 4-0 for the Bulldogs, but the set remained close with eight total ties and four lead changes. The set saw three ties at beyond the 20-point mark, but the Demons found two Kills by Olivia Nzioki to end the match, 3-0 for Northwestern State.

Riley Steubing continued her double-digit digs streak, finding 14 scoops. Emerson Traylor led the team with 17 assists, her second time leading the team this season.

Louisiana Tech again kept the score within reach throughout the third set, but McNeese built a late advantage and closed out the match with a 25-20 victory.

Rodriguez led the Bulldogs with 10 kills on 20 attempts while adding three digs. Hairston also recorded 10 kills, while McKinnie finished with seven kills and two solo blocks. Riley

Steubing paced the defensive effort with 11 digs, her ninth match this season in double figures.
