The Bulldogs head to Abilene after a 3-0 defeat to Northwestern State in Natchitoches on Tuesday night. Megan Cooley nearly notched a double-double after a team high nine kills and 13 digs.Â
ÂRiley Steubing is one of the most productive liberos in the country. The senior from Richmond, Texas is seventh in the nation with 5.16 digs/set, notching double-figure digs in every match except one this season. Steubing leads the Sun Belt in the category and is ninth in service aces/set at 0.43.Â
ÂThe kill leader for the Bulldogs is Taylor Woods at 2.50 per set as a true freshman. Woods has led the team in the category five times this season and had a career high 14 against Grambling last week in the Bulldog Bash. Her 14 kills is the most by a Bulldog this season.
ÂSydnee Carter and Emerson Traylor are the assist leaders for the Bulldogs with Carter pitching in 5.32 per set and Traylor adding 4.49 per set. Carter has dished at least 20 assists in four matches this season and has assisted in the double-figures every match. Traylor has notched at least a dozen in all matches but two, having a season high 22 against Houston Christian in the Jambalaya Jam.
ÂThe hitting rotation for the Bulldogs is deep this season with five different players leading the team in the category this season. Gabrielle Hairston had led the team two of the last three matches, hitting a team best among outside hitters at .274 percent.Â
