RUSTON - Louisiana Tech will be hosting a college-am on March 14 in conjunction with the Bulldog Classic hosted at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant.
Bulldog head golf coach Jeff Parks is taking reservations for the event which is open to all golfers with a valid USGA handicap. The format for the event is a two-person, best ball where each golfer will be teamed with a college golfer from one of the 16 teams entered in the tournament host by LA Tech.
Cost of the event is $200 per golfer which includes carts, dinner, prizes and t-gifts.
"This is an opportunity for some of our fans and other golfers to see the future starts of the game," Parks said. "It's always a great event and we expect another great showing this year. We have some of the top teams in the country entered in this tournament so there will be some great golf."
Six teams ranked in the Top 100 in the country, including four ranked in the Top 60, are entered in the two-day event which will run March 15 and 16. Teams include Oklahoma, Kansas, Ole Miss, Houston, Rice, Southeastern Louisiana, McNeese State, SFA, New Orleans, Jacksonville State, UTSA, Austin Peay, Missouri State, Nicholls State, Centenary and the Bulldogs.
