Ruston, La. - Mike LeBreton tossed six scoreless innings and Mark Threlkeld plated five RBI on four hits as the Blue Team rolled past the White Team, 10-0, Saturday afternoon to even the Louisiana Tech Fall World Series at one game apiece.
"I tried to get ahead of their hitters because they are a power hitting team," said LeBreton. "I threw a lot of changeups and kept them off-balanced by throwing towards their hands which did not allow them to extend. I just let me defense play for me."
Threlkeld doubled to left center in the first inning scoring Justin Gordey to give the Blue Team a quick 1-0 lead.
Right fielder Cole Gilmore added to the Blue Team's lead with a two-run shot over the batter's eye in centerfield in the bottom of the second inning.
John Anderson took the loss for the White Team giving up six hits and four runs in 4.0 innings of work.
With a five run lead heading into the sixth inning, LeBreton made quick work of the White Team tossing only nine pitches.
LeBreton (1-0) faced 24 batters allowing just two hits and two walks while throwing 68 pitches.
Threlkeld extended the Blue Team's lead to eight runs with a three-run opposite field shot in the bottom half of the sixth inning.
"I've been seeing the ball really well and I finally got my swing back to where I want," said Threlkeld. "Today was a new day and we just barreled balls up and they just fell today."
The Blue team would add a two spot in the eighth inning to close out the scoring for the afternoon.
With the series tied at one game apiece, both teams return to action Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. for game three of the Louisiana Tech Fall World Series.
