RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech Athletics and the Bulldogs baseball program will host the Bulldog Baseball Letterman Appreciation Weekend which will be held in conjunction with Tech's four-game series against nationally-ranked Fresno State on May 6-8.
Many of Tech's baseball letter winners have not had an opportunity to see the incredible facility improvements taking place throughout the Tech campus and athletic facilities, including at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
Over the past decade, the Louisiana Tech campus has seen millions and millions of dollars of new construction and facility renovations, including projects such as the renovation of Hale Hall, the construction of University Park and the ongoing addition of the new swimming pools adjacent to the Lambright Intramural Center.
However, the campus isn't the only area of the University that has seen such drastic improvements.
Over the past five years, J.C. Love Field has been blessed with the additions of new press box, new scoreboard, exterior stadium lighting, banners, new logos, flags and are currently in the process of completing walkway, restroom and batting cage windscreen upgrades. Not only does the entire campus have a new look, but J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park is something that will make all former Bulldog players proud.
When Tech hosts Fresno State during the first weekend of May, the athletics department would like each former letter winners to be a part of this pivotal conference series. Prior to Saturday's 1 p.m. start against Fresno State, there will be a jambalaya cookout for all returning letter winners. All former letter winners will also be recognized on the field prior to the first pitch.
Each former letterman will be given two free tickets for the game. Additional tickets will be provided at a discounted rate of $4. Anyone wishing to participate in this event is asked to RSVP to Associate AD Eric Buskirk by Tuesday, May 3 at (318) 257-2933 or via e-mail at ebuskirk@latech.edu.
