NATCHITOCHES, La. - Louisiana Tech placed four on the All-Louisiana Baseball Teams the Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced Sunday with third baseman Mark Threlkeld leading the way with first team honors.
Joining Threlkeld on the All-Louisiana teams are Caleb Dudley, Mike Jefferson and Clint Ewing, all honorable mention honors.
Threlkeld recently signed a contract with the Kansas City Royals organization and has reported to the team's facility in Arizona. During the 2011 season, Threlked played in all 61 games for Tech, hitting .309 with a team-leading 71 hits and team-best 45 runs. A native of Monroe, he drove in 45 runs and was named second team all-Western Athletic Conference.
Dudley recently set the school's single-season record in saves (12) and appearances (32) while recording a 5-2 record and 3.30 ERA.
Jefferson was 6-4 with a 3.56 ERA in 18 appearances on the mound in 2011. He allowed 41 runs (34 earned) on 79 hits in 86.0 innings pitched while walking 46 and striking out 70 on the year.
Ewing, a Lowe's Senior CLASS Award Finalist, hit .259 while drawing 20 walks during the 2011 campaign. He tallied 19 RBI and scored 13 runs while graduating from LA Tech with a 4.0 GPA in civil engineering.
