WACO, Texas - Louisiana Tech will put its three-game winning streak on the line Tuesday when the Lady Techsters travel to face 10th ranked Baylor in a softball doubleheader at 4 p.m. at Getterman Stadium.
Tech (10-9) finished the Bulldog Classic strong this past weekend. After opening with a pair of losses, the Lady Techsters bounced back to win three straight to finish as the runner-up in the five-team event.
Sophomore Katelynn Hill and junior Meghan Knowles were both named to the all-tournament team after their contributions to Tech's success.
Junior Janna Frandrup continues to lead Louisiana Tech offensively with an .375 batting average and team-highs in RBI (17), walks (16) and on-base percentage (.552). Hill (.318, 5 HR, 9 RBI), Erin Kipp (.316, 2 RBI), Amanda Krueger (.296, 20 runs, 8 doubles) and Knowles (2 HR, 12 RBI) have also been solid through 19 games.
In the circle, Michelle Jones (6-3, 2.27 ERA) has been stellar for LA Tech as team's are batting only .234 against her this season. Melanie Goff (0-2, 5.60 ERA), Erin Kipp (3-3, 6.30 ERA) and Frandrup (1-1, 0.93 ERA) could also see some innings against the Bears.
Baylor is 14-6 on the season and is coming off a 2-3 performance at the Citrus Classic this past weekend that included a 2-1 mark against ranked opponents with wins over No. 18 Oregon and No. 24 North Carolina.
Tech leads the all-time series 30-14; however, the Lady Bears have won 11 straight dating back to a 4-2 loss on March 23, 1996.
