@LATechBOWL Finishes Fourth at Thrashing Tiger Tournament

Nov. 5, 2014 HOUSTON - Head coach Jerry Miles and the Louisiana Tech bowling squad recorded a fourth place finish this past weekend as they competed in the annual Thrashing Tiger Tournament, which was held in Houston and hosted by Texas Southern.

The Lady Techsters finished with a record of 4-7 on the weekend, as Texas Southern, Jackson State and Prairie View A&M took the top three spots in the second annual tournament.

LA Tech had a pin total of 4,373 in Baker match play, while the first place TSU Tigers recorded a pin total of 4,754 to help lead them to their first victory of the short season. The Lady Techsters had a team series average of 874.6 in Baker format, while the team had a bowler average of 174.92.

In traditional team games, LA Tech totaled 8,858 total pins with a record of 3-5, while Texas Southern once again came out on top in the competition with 9,223 total pins and a 6-2 record.

The Lady Techsters return to the lanes on Nov. 14 as they travel to compete in the Alabama State Hornet Classic in Montgomery, Alabama.
