RUSTON – Louisiana Tech bowling had a trio of players earn National Tenpin Coaches Association All-American honors at the NCAA Championship banquet Thursday night.
Jenna Stretch was named to the second team, while
Kylee Trexler and
Juliana Kerrigan earned third-team All-American honors. The recognition marks Trexler's second career All-American selection after she earned third-team honors as a freshman.
Stretch, Trexler and Kerrigan led LA Tech to a 79-36 record, including 44 ranked wins during the regular season, and a third-place finish at the Conference USA Championships. The trio then helped the Bulldogs to a runner-up finish at the NCAA Regional Championships in Arlington, Texas, marking the sixth consecutive season that the Bulldogs have reached a regional.
Stretch, a third-team All-Conference USA selection, earned her first All-American honor with a second-team nod. Stretch has been a steady force for Louisiana Tech in NCAA traditional team play, totaling 445 completed frames with a 20.58 average and an impressive 90.1% fill rate. She owns a 49.7% strike percentage while converting 80.4% of her spare opportunities, including an 87.5% clip on makeable spares and a 95.0% mark on single-pin attempts. Stretch has also delivered in key moments, posting a 19.62 average in the 10th frame with an 84.4% fill rate, while filling 90.9% of her leadoff opportunities and striking at a 52.3% rate in those situations.
In NCAA Baker competition, Stretch has continued that consistency across 695 frames, averaging 20.60 with an 87.9% fill percentage. She has recorded a 51.7% strike rate and converted 74.9% of her spare chances, including an 85.5% rate on makeable spares and a 94.4% success rate on single pins. Her ability to string together strikes has also stood out, converting 53.9% of Baker double opportunities, while maintaining an 88.6% fill rate in the 10th frame.
In NCAA team play, Trexler totaled 420 completed frames with an average of 20.54 pins per frame and an overall fill percentage of 85.5%. She has recorded a 53.4% strike rate (225-of-421) while converting 68.9% of all spare opportunities, including an 82.8% conversion rate on makeable spares and an 88.3% clip on single-pin attempts. Trexler has also shown reliability in pressure situations, posting a 79.1% fill rate in the 10th frame with a 19.56 average, while filling 71.4% of her leadoff opportunities.
In NCAA Baker play, she has logged 727 frames with a 20.61 average and an 87.5% fill rate. She owns a 49.7% strike percentage (365-of-735) while converting 75.1% of her spare chances, including an 84.6% rate on makeable spares and a 90.8% mark on single pins. Trexler has also delivered in key spots, posting an 89.1% leadoff fill rate and a 52.0% leadoff strike percentage.
Kerrigan, a third team All-American, delivered a consistent and efficient performance across the season, highlighted by strong spare shooting and steady frame production. She completed 1,528 frames with just two incomplete frames, averaging 20.24 pins per frame and posting an overall fill rate of 85.5%. Her first-ball average of 9.01 and a 74.6% rate of knocking down nine or more pins set the tone for reliable scoring opportunities.
Kerrigan converted 49.3% of her 755 strike attempts while demonstrating particular strength in spare shooting. She converted 71.4% of all spare chances (553-of-775), including an impressive 83.9% on makeable spares and 89.6% on single-pin attempts. Her ability to clean up multi-pin makeable spares (75.0%) further underscored her efficiency, though split conversions remained a challenge at 13.1%.In pressure situations, Kerrigan maintained composure. She averaged 20.40 in the 10th frame with an 85.5% fill rate, striking on 51.9% of first shots and converting doubles 28.3% of the time. As a leadoff bowler, she filled 78.0% of frames and struck at a 39.0% clip, providing stability at the top of the lineup.
