Oct. 13, 2016 RUSTON ââ'¬" Next up on the fall schedule for the Louisiana Tech tennis team is the much-anticipated 2016 ITA Southern Regional Championships which will start on Friday, Oct. 14 and run through Monday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
LA Tech hopes to carry on its success in the tournament, hosted by the University of Alabama at the University of Alabama Tennis Stadium, Student Recreation Courts and the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility, like it did last season with two main draw titles and a back draw title.
Jazmin Britos, Marta Sramkova and Nadja Manjon will participate in the A Singles (64-player bracket) while Haley Ballinger, Alba Escalona Perny and Sonia Chen will compete in the B Singles (32-player bracket).
In doubles, Sramkova and Britos will partner up in the A Doubles (32-team bracket) while the duos of Manjon/Perny and Ballinger/Chen will take part in the B Doubles (16-team bracket).
All matches will start at 9 a.m. each morning. Opening day will start with the first round of doubles followed by rounds one and two in singles.
The other teams competing besides the Lady Techsters and host Crimson Tide are Auburn, UAB, LSU, Tulane, ULM, Nicholls State, McNeese State, Southern Miss, Troy, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Samford, Northwestern State, Jacksonville State and Louisiana-Lafayette.
