@LATechTFXC Set to Compete at Jaguar Indoor Invitational

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech's Track and Field is gearing up to compete in the team's third indoor meet of the season when the Bulldogs and Lady Techsters travel to the South Alabama Jaguar Invitational Sunday in Birmingham, Alabama.

The men will compete in an 18-team field Sunday, while the women are part of a 23-team field this weekend at the Jaguar Invitational, which will be held at the Birmingham Crossplex. Live results will be posted and available throughout the day at www.xpresstiming.com/Live/2017/Indoor/USA.

The action is scheduled to begin at noon Sunday with both field and running events occurring simultaneously. LA Tech enters the competition having had two weeks off since its last meet at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville.

LA Tech will enjoy a full day of competition as the two squads are entered in 12 field events and 15 running events at Sunday's invitational.

The day begins with Chloe Lautric and Jasmine White competing in the women's high jump at 12:10 p.m., while Jordan Patrick will represent the Bulldogs in the men's high jump later that afternoon at 4 p.m.

Louisiana Tech will have four representatives competing in the shot put with Asia Abron on the women's side and Jacob Cambre, Patrick and Isaac Samuels in the men's event. The weight throw competition begins at 12:30 p.m. for the women with LA Tech's Shelby Bishop, Morgan Keesee and Rhea Thompson competing for the Lady Techsters, while the men's weight throw is set for 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon and will feature Chris London.

In the pole vault, Gregory Ballard leads a group of four Bulldogs competing after he set a new school record in the event two weeks ago at the Vanderbilt Invitational. Cade McConathy , Patrick and Daniel Sams will also compete in the men's pole vault, which is scheduled to begin at approximately 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The women's pole vault competition will feature Alies van Berkum and is set to start at 12:30 p.m.

In the jumps, LA Tech will once again have four Bulldog representatives with Cambre, Patrick, Craig Jones and Tamario Lattin competing at 12:30 p.m., while the women's long jump includes Denisha Henix and Dominique Lewis for the Lady Techsters.

For the final two field events of the day will feature Henix, Lewis and Anji Garcia-Solis in the women's triple jump and Jones and Lattin on the men's side, both of which are scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Birmingham.

In the running events, the day begins with Brandon Lewis-Graham competing in the men's 3,000-meter run at 12:15 p.m. Following that event, LA Tech will have a total of six student-athletes competing in the men's and women's 1-mile runs with Kacie Kaufman for the women and Austin Ballow, Drake Heinz, Conner Killian, Manoah Kiptum and Scott Maggio for the men. The 1-mile runs are set to start at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

The 400-meter dash at 1 p.m. will feature Elia Nero for the women and Darius Statham, Edjim Beaver and Lanorris Graden on the men's side. The 60-meter dash preliminaries are set to start at 2 p.m. and will include a total of six of LA Tech's runners, with Alexis Hyshaw, Ona Giles and Morgan White on the women's side, while Jermey Hicks, Cambre and Andrew Bradberry will compete for the men. Cambre, Bradberry and Hicks will also compete in the men's 200-meter dash at 4:15 p.m., while Giles will also compete on the women's side.

The 60-meter hurdles preliminaries is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. and feature Jordan Patrick (men) and Autym Scales (women), while the 800-meter run will follow that at 3:45 p.m. and include Chris Brausell, Abde Rivera and Heinz for the men and Quinci Middlebrooks for the women.

To close out the day, both the Bulldogs and Lady Techsters will race in the 4x400-meter relay timed finals, which is set to start at 4:45 p.m. Sunday in Birmingham.
