Final Stats

RUSTON, La. - Nate Harris tossed his third complete game of the season and Chase Lunceford drove in four runs as Louisiana Tech (29-14, 10-10 C-USA) clinched the series with a 7-1 victory over WKU (13-31, 4-16 C-USA) on Saturday afternoon at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.

The win over the Hilltoppers is the fourth consecutive series won by the Diamond `Dogs who now sit in a tie for fifth place in Conference USA.

Nate Harris dazzled again, going the distance for the third time this season, a mark that ranks first in Conference USA. Harris tied a career-high with nine strikeouts over those nine innings and allowed just five hits and a lone run. Harris also did not issue a single walk in the win over WKU.

Harris, who moves to 6-0 on the year, has now tossed a complete game in three of his five career starts. No other pitcher in Conference USA has three complete games this season and only two other pitchers in the conference have more than one.

Louisiana Tech got the scoring started early with a four-run frame in the bottom of the first, powered by a three-run home run from Chase Lunceford. The Bulldogs tacked on two more in the second and Marshall Boggs sent a laser shot over the wall in left field to put LA Tech up 6-0 after two.

WKU's lone run came in the top of the sixth, but the Bulldogs got it back in the bottom of the eighth when consecutive hit-by-pitches to Boggs and Lunceford forced home a seventh run.

Both Jordan Washam and Sean Ullrich notched multiple hits in the win, while Chase Lunceford drove in four of LA Tech's seven runs. Washam, Raphael Gladu and Boggs all scored two runs in the win and the other run came courtesy of Lunceford.

Boggs drove in two runs in the win, while Brent Diaz was the other run producer for the Bulldogs.

Five Louisiana Tech players were hit by a pitch in the victory and Dalton Skelton was hit by two pitches alone.

The series finale is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at J.C. Love Field. The game will be broadcast on ESPN 97.7 and streamed on CUSA.TV.
