Raphael Gladu had four of the Bulldogs seven hits as Louisiana Tech (30-14, 11-10 C-USA), completed the three-game sweep over WKU (13-32, 4-17 C-USA) on Sunday afternoon at J.C. Love Field.

Gladu was an unstoppable force at the plate, picking up four hit which included a game-clinching, two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. The senior drove in three runs, while also scoring two more himself in the win.

Matt Miller and Kent Hasler combined to go the distance. Miller got the start and tossed a career-high six innings, striking out five and allowing just two hits.

Hasler, who got the win, tossed three innings of one-hit baseball and struck out three.

The duo at one point, combined to retire 15 consecutive WKU batters. The streak came to an end on a one-out single in the ninth, with the game already in hand.

WKU got on the board first with their only run of the game coming in the top of the fourth inning on a solo home run.

The Bulldogs responded immediately with a run of their own in the bottom half as Gladu doubled home Dalton Skelton to knot the game at 1-1.

LA Tech and WKU remained knotted at 1-1 until a crazy bottom of the seventh inning. With Gladu and Chase Lunceford standing on second and first, respectively, Jonathan Washam stepped to the plate with one out.

Washam hit a pitch off of the end of the bat that rolled nearly two feet into foul territory, but the seasoned-veteran hustled down the first base line anyways. The spin on the ball took it back into fair territory and Washam avoided the swipe of the pitcher to reach first on an infield single.

At the same time, the catcher had abandoned his position behind the plate and Gladu never stopped, rounding third and sliding into home safely as a late throw attempt to try and gun down Gladu sailed over the head of the catcher who was racing back to cover the plate. On the errant throw, Lunceford attempted to score and collided with the WKU third baseman, but was ultimately granted home on interference, giving the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead.

In the bottom of the eighth, Parker Bater drew a two-out walk and Gladu delivered a two-run bomb over the right field wall to extend the LA Tech lead to 5-1. With the win today, Louisiana Tech now sits alone fifth place in Conference USA.

LA Tech will now have three days rest, before hitting the road on Thursday morning for a long trip down to Miami, Florida where the FIU Panthers await the Bulldogs for a three-game weekend set.
