FRISCO, Texas – Following up on one of the most successful rookie seasons in program history, Louisiana Tech sophomore
Kaitlyn Eder added to her list of accolades, as she was recognized on the 2019 Southland Bowling League's All-Conference First Team, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Â
Eder, last year's National Tenpin Coaches Association Rookie of the Year, put together a stellar sophomore campaign in 2018-19, leading the Lady Techsters to four top two tournament finishes, and a pair of tournament titles.
Â
"Kaitlyn's main goal entering this season was to improve on her success from last year," head coach
Matt Nantais remarked. "Watching her grow over the last two years has been a real joy. She brings hard work and passion to the lanes every time out, and works just as hard in the classroom. She is always pushing herself to be better in all aspects of life. Kaitlyn is an excellent role model and leader on this team, and she would be the first to say that individual awards wouldn't be possible without the support and encouragement from her teammates."
Â
Among Southland leaders, Eder ranked among the top 10 in nearly every statistical category, while leading the Lady Techsters in strikes (323), strike percentage (46.9%), spare conversion percentage (73.5%) and average per frame (20.01).
Â
Eder earned tournament MVP honors at the Hornet Classis back on January 27
th and earned three separate all-tournament team selections throughout the year. She also qualified for Junior Team USA for the second straight season and helped the Lady Techsters to a top-25 national ranking throughout the entirety of the 2018-19 season.
