No. 9 LA Tech Bowling Wins Single-Day Event at Lady Techsters Invitational

SAVANNAH, Tenn. – The No. 9 Louisiana Tech women's bowling team won the single-day event of the Lady Techsters Invitational with 4,781 total pins on Friday in Savannah, Tenn.

The Lady Techsters Invitational is split into two events. Friday was a single-day event consisting of five Baker games with the winner being determined by total pins.

"It was not our best performance today and the lanes were pretty hard," head coach Matt Nantais said. "However, they came together as a team supported each other all day which allowed us a chance to come back the last match and take over the lead. This field is extremely strong and I'm very proud of how they performed today. Tomorrow will be a grind, but we're going to get some rest and come out and give it our best shot."

LA Tech opened the day with a 922-901 victory over No. 2 Vanderbilt and a 960-865 win over No. 5 Sam Houston State. No. 23 Lincoln Memorial defeated Louisiana Tech, 1,017-919, in the third match of the day. The Lady Techsters bounced back with a 984-917 win over No. 3 Arkansas State before losing, 1,016-996, to No. 7 Stephen F. Austin.

LA Tech won the one-day event with 4,781 total pins. Lincoln Memorial placed second with 4,726 total pins, Arkansas State was third with 4,760, Vanderbilt placed fourth with 4,658, Stephen F. Austin finished fifth at 4,538 and Sam Houston State was sixth with 4,442.
