No. 9 LA Tech Bowling Places Second at Lady Techsters Invitational

SAVANNAH, Tenn. – The No. 9 Louisiana Tech women's bowling team placed second at the Lady Techsters Invitational in Savannah, Tenn., on Sunday.

"We finished second for the third straight event," head coach Matt Nantais said. "At this event, there were no give me matches as everybody was highly ranked. We have to get better at closing out matches and not giving teams an opportunity to win like we did today. Overall, it was a good weekend and we continue to show teams that we are one of the best in the nation. On a positive note, our singles fair shooting percentage was over 95 percent for the weekend. We just have to work on a few things mentally to prepare for our next event."

The tournament was held at the Savannah Bowling Center which is owned by the parents of senior Lady Techster Ashley Channell. Channell finished third individually with a pin average of 206.40 to earn her a spot on the all-tournament team. Sophomore Danielle Jedlicki was also named to the all-tournament team after finishing sixth individually with an average of 199.00. Junior Lindsay Manning was the third Lady Techster to finish in the top-10 after placing seventh with a pin average of 198.80. Sophomore Allie Leiendecker and senior Kaitlyn Eder finished 15th (185.00) and 21st (177.00), respectively.
