DALLAS -- The Louisiana Tech bowling team opened its 2022-23 season with an overall sweep during the SWIBC tournament on Saturday and Sunday in Dallas, Texas. 
 
The Lady Techsters competed in five regular team games and twelve Baker games in Saturday's event to finish first. Senior Patricia Rosales finished the event in first individually to earn her a spot on the Saturday All-Tournament team. Allie Leiendecker finished second to gain a spot next to Rosales on Saturday's All-Tournament team.
 
Rosales earned her spot by finishing Saturday with a pinfall of 1,534 (258, 190, 193, 245, 228) while Leiendecker totaled 1,060 (212, 211, 214, 251, 172) pins. Saturday's event was made up of seven teams with the Lady Techsters totaling 4,995 pins on the day to give them a 404-pin lead over second-place Oklahoma Christian.
 
Sunday's event also included seven teams with seven regular team games. With a total of 6,733 total pins, the Lady Techsters came out on top in the second event as well. Rosales and Leiendecker both earned spots on Sunday's All-Tournament team as well after finishing first and second, along with Lindsay Manning. Rosales finished the second event with 1,534 total pins (232, 243, 278, 207, 214, 166, 194) and Leiendecker totaled 1,432 pins (248, 210, 152, 199, 198, 219, 197). Manning landed on the All-Tournament team after finishing third in Sunday's event totaling 1,362 total pins (189, 237, 188, 158, 191, 189, 212).

"This weekend was a good tune-up to help us see what we need to clean up before we start NCAA competition. We definitely need to work on our space shooting before we head to Tulane next weekend. We were able to get everybody playing time and everybody stepped up at some time over the weekend, which was very encouraging."
