Bulldogs Qualify First for Bracket Play at Track Kat Klash

HOUSTON – Patricia Rosales and Abbie Leiendecker finished in the top 25 individually to lead No. 10 Louisiana Tech to a 3-2 record on the second day of the Track Kat Klash at Emerald Bowl. 
 
The Bulldogs finished qualifying first with a 10,321 total pinfall.
 
The Bulldogs opened the day by dominating No. 4 North Carolina A&T, the only team to beat them this season, 1,108-956. Patricia Rosales stringed seven strikes together to lead the scoring with 246. Annalise O'Bryant and Danielle Jedlicki threw clean games and finished with a 237 and 235, respectively. The sister duo of Abbie (198) and Allie Leiendecker (192) closed out the scoring for Tech.
 
No. 13 Newman took advantage of miscues by the Bulldogs and gave Tech their first loss of the tournament, 1,001-988. Rosales continued her hot start to the day with a 237 to be the high Bulldog for the second straight game. Abbie Leiendecker finished with a 213, and O'Bryant shot 191.
 
Louisiana Tech shot their lowest set of the weekend, but the Bulldogs were able to pull off the 903-845 victory over No. 21 Lincoln Memorial. Jedlicki missed breaking even by a pin with a 199. Rosales and Abbie Leiendecker shot 193 and 190, respectively.
 
The Bulldogs regained their footing in a 1,035-699 victory over Grambling. Kylee Trexler, Jedlicki, and Abbie Leiendecker all finished in the plus. Trexler was high with a 253, followed by Jedlicki with a 222 and Abbie Leiendecker with a 207.
 
In the final match of the day, No. 9 Maryville was the only team to shoot a 1,000 in the last set, taking it 1,045-908 over the Bulldogs. Trexler finished with a 216 as the only Tech bowler in the plus.
  
UP NEXT
Bracket play begins at 8 a.m. CT, with the No. 10 Bulldogs open against No. 9 Maryville. The winner of the best 4-of-7 Baker format will advance to the championship match.
